ROBERT PAUL SOWELL LIVING TRUST CLAIMS $10 MILLION FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery today announced that the Robert Paul Sowell Living Trust claimed the May 15 $10 million FLORIDA LOTTO™ jackpot. Robert Sowell, 39, of Zephyrhills, is the trustee. The Robert Paul Sowell Living Trust chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for the winnings in the amount of $5,817,490.10. The winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket was purchased from Harry's Food Mart, located at 7950 Wire Road in Zephyrhills. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $30,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $7.27 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $21 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education. The Trust is the 24th FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner to purchase a winning ticket in Pasco County. To date, there have been more than 950 FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winners statewide since 1988. The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held on Wednesday, June 16, at 11:15 p.m. ET with an $18 million jackpot. Webcasts of Florida Lottery drawings are available on the Lottery's Web site at flalottery.com. # # # |
