BROWARD COUNTY WOMAN CLAIMS SHARE OF $7 MILLION FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery today announced that FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner Joyce Levitt, 77, of Pembroke Pines, claimed her share of a $7 million jackpot. The drawing was held on January 2, and produced two jackpot winners. The other winning ticket, which has been claimed, was purchased in Okeechobee. Levitt chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for her winnings in the amount of $2,052,472.33. The winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket was purchased from Publix, located at 170 S. Flamingo Road in Pembroke Pines. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $10,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. The winning FLORIDA LOTTO numbers were 15 - 19 - 28 - 29 - 38 - 51 and the XTRA multiplier was 3. Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $4.4 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education. Levitt is the 77th FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner from Broward County. To date, there have been more than 940 FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winners statewide since 1988. The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held Wednesday, January 20, at 11:15 p.m. ET with a $3 million jackpot.
